FRAUDULENT PHONE CALLS

It has come to our notice through complaints received from Indian nationals that fraud phone calls are being received purportedly from +4930257950, which is Embassy of India, Berlin's phone number. The caller threatens the Indians living in Germany with deportation/legal problems unless a certain amount is transferred to the account details provided by the caller. Please be advised that no such calls are made by the Indian Embassy or our Consulates in Frankfurt, Munich and Hamburg. Do not fall prey to this scam. If you have received such a threat, please inform us with details, preferably by email to consular@indianembassy.de and minpersoffice@indianembassy.de

2. There have also been instances of Indian nationals in Germany receiving fraudulent phone calls from the telephone number 0049-911-943-6390 (telephone number of BAMF - Germany Federal Office for Migration and Refugees) threatening registration of case/deportation for furnishing incorrect information to the Immigration authorities in India at the time of travel to Germany and forcefully insisting on immediate payment of fine for the same. All such cases should be immediately brought to the notice of the Consulate (consular@cgihamburg.de) and the BAMF Office by e-mail to info.burerger@bamf.bund.de. A similar advisory/caution regarding such fraudulent phone calls can also be seen at the BAMF website (www.bamf.de).
