We are encountering cases of Indian citizens who are stranded at busy civil aviation hubs in Germany, such as Frankfurt and Munich, mostly as transit passengers without Schengen visa whose onward flights have been cancelled by Lufthansa citing force majeure conditions.

Long distance travel to North America via Germany without a transit visa carries the risk of being stranded should force majeure conditions arise and existing civil aviation regulations exempt airlines from any claims. Indian passengers, especially Indian students, are advised to take informed decisions while opting for such flights.
